ABOUT DR. GARZA
They say that a woman always remembers two things about the day she gives birth: the weight of her baby and the name of her doctor. I feel privileged to be part of that life-changing time for women.
My father was a doctor and, growing up, I remember him always seeing his patients when we were out at the shopping mall or grocery store, and it brought such a sense of community to our family. That human connection and sense of community made me want to pursue a career in medicine. When it came time for me to choose a specialty, I knew obstetrics and gynecology would allow me to foster those deep, long-lasting relationships.
After finishing my residency at the University of Buffalo, I moved to Colorado and started working at a large multi-specialty practice. I loved my work, but I wanted more freedom and a smaller practice so I could get to know my patients even better.
When an opportunity arose in Arizona, I knew I had a chance to have that smaller practice that I dreamed of. I am finally able to offer my patients a more welcoming and inviting practice, one that I am proud of. I am able to take more time with my patients and deliver more personalized care.
Whether I'm delivering a baby for a first-time mom or performing a laparoscopic surgery, I like to think I provide expert, empathetic care to every patient. As a specialty interest of mine, I'm deeply committed to helping women with painful and often misdiagnosed conditions, such as endometriosis.
To me, being a doctor is about setting roots down in a community and getting to know my patients. I have my own family now and I feel deeply tied to the Gilbert/Chandler area, so I feel an extreme responsibility to provide excellent health care for women here.
If you're looking for personalized health care from a small practice that will take great care of you, I encourage you to reach out to us.
At our practice, you know who will deliver your baby before your due date. You'll already have a strong relationship with that doctor and trust them—that kind of boutique care makes all the difference.
Personal Interests
Outside of the office, I mostly play dad to my three amazing daughters. Spending time with my wife and kids is my favorite thing by far.
Other than that, I have a deep appreciation for the warm weather Phoenix has to offer—especially after my residency in Buffalo with its mammoth snow falls. If I'm not with my family, I like playing lacrosse and staying fit. I used to play in college and I still have found the time to play on a travel team here.
